Te Ahu Cinema Lion King - First Draft

On Rapare we went to Te Ahu centre with Te Tinana to go see the new movie The lion king. When we got there Whaea Deb said we could have a quick snack and I was very happy for Whaea Deb and I had 7 pieces of pineapple but dropped 2 and put them back in my lunch box. when we went in I saw the beautiful lights inside and I wasn't really exited for the movie because my uncle and my aunt peeps took me and my sister there. The Characters are  king Mufusa queen Sarabi prince Simba Nala  uncle Scar Shenzi Ed Banzai Zazu Timon Rafiki. my least favourite Character is Scar because he kills Mufusa and blames it on Simba and tells Simba to run away so he does. my lest favourite part was when Scar tries to kill Simba and lies to the other lions. my favourite favourite part is when they sing the Hakuna Matata

Wonderful Sentences

I have been learning how to copy and paste from our class writing flip charts to share our learning. I know how to insert bullet points and use the highlighting tool.

We know that wonderful sentences need:

• detail (elaboration)
• capital letters and full stops
• Punctuation (, ! ? “ “)
• quality vocab - WOW words
• 
  

WALT recognise different parts of speech.

• Nouns are naming words. eg. chair, book, July, Awhi

• Adjectives describe nouns.

Eg. wooden chair, writing book, freezing July, lovely Awhi

• Verbs are doing words.

Eg run, walk, jump, skip, chew

Adverbs describe verbs.

Eg. briskly running, slowly walking, jumping high, skipping happily and chewing noisily.

CLASS EXAMPLES

 

1. The bird is angry.
2. The bluey- blackish bird is very angry. 
3. The mean bluey-blackish bird is angrily staring at it's furry prey.
4. The really really MAD bird flew off the tree branch and landed on the ground evilly.   

1. The cat is sad.

2. The lack cat is awfully sad.

3. The midnight cat is shedding a tear as it waits for the witch to return.

Tuna Kuwharuwharu ( Longfin Eel )

This term we have been learning all about the longfin eel.

Our assembly item was based on the story Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about the migration journey that the longfin eel takes.

I have created 3 different digital learning objects ( DLO ) to share my learning on this topic . 

The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges that the longfin eel faces.

     I created a longfin eel life cycle using google drawing. 

I also made a google poster to share interesting facts about 

the longfin eel.

Our AMAZING trip to Waitangi - 10.6.19

Last Tuesday I got to school and sat down at the old Te karu so we could go to Waitangi to learn. Every one just turned up and the bus was hiding in the trees. When we got to Waitangi the bus arrived and we all RUSHED out and Whaea Monika and Whaea Kerry welcomed us and we all went in. All of us saw the beautiful lights inside it all was super pretty there was really colourful and pretty whale paintings. 5 mins later after we had a talk about what we did when they came to our school.

 Next we talked to the expert of really special stones I was the first person to hold one of the stones because of my great faces that I was making. My stone was a green stone I was wondered why it was so pointy.

 After that we all did scratch it was about us and our eels  my partner was Anahera she was sitting next to me. Whaea Monika showed me how to get back in to scratch because I just some how loged off. My eel was black with funny eyes. I said to Lucy I like your eel, then we all went for a walk around and everyone's was really pretty. Whaea Deb said its time to have lunch so we all said awwww. 

At the end of the day we ate our kai we all were listening to Whaea Deb and Whaea Monika talking and they said that we were going to the park and then I smiled. Later on Whaea Deb said its time to go to the park. First me Mason leef and Liv went to the big yellow trees. Liv screamed!!!! because there was a BIG BUG soo we we all ran but came back. After that we all played chain tag Mason T was in on the first round. All of us were screaming I was the best at it. 

Last of all Whaea Kerry took us to some eels. One eel came up up to me and diped  its head in the water and then SPLASH I got wet only a little bit though.As soon as we were leaving I was so sad Whaea Kerry and Whaea Monika were giving us high fives I never wanted to lea Waitangi then the bus left with us in it : [and we did say bye.
